The Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R is based on the socket 1366 platform that supports Core i7 processor. It has X58 chipset on the Northbridge and ICR10R on Southbridge. It has four 16X PCI-E, one PCI-E 1X and one PCI slot.  The best part of this motherboard is it supports both the Crossfire and the 3-way SLI therefore; you can plug on your favorite video graphics card either an ATI or Radeon.

This board has six DDR3 slot triple channel 2000MHz that supports up to 24GB memory with ten SATA ports. It also supports SATA2, 8 RAID capable of SATA 3Gbps ports and 2 RAID capable eSATA ports, 2 RAID capable of SATA 6Gbps ports. It has ten USB 2.0 port and two USB 3.0 port. That was an awesome support, it almost run like a file server. It’s got an excellent motherboard layout for a nice decent wiring.

Overclocking the GA-X58A-UD3R

The GA-X58A-UD3R is fast and easy to overclock because, almost all settings are located on a single page in CMOS BIOS and you can change their values easily. It has a feature named auto recovery. In case when you overclocked beyond the limits, all you have to do is reset and it will POST in safe mode without losing any of your settings.

This board was overclocked at 220 QPI beating the 200MHz QPI with core i7 980X Extreme Edition with stock frequency of 3.33GHz. This board was overclocked at 4.4GHz with ease to set an impressive Media Benchmark score of 2,624 and proved to be a champion in Crisis with minimum frame rate of 42fps.
The GA-X58A-UD3R shows the best performance with great overclocking capabilities. This board is almost the same as the first one released by Gigabyte which is the GA-X58A-UD7 except for its lower tag price. Having the Lowest price compare to its competitor this one has the greatest value for your money. If you’re planning to build a core i7 computer this board is a must!
