The new Windows 7 operating system introduces a new media streaming feature called as remote media streaming, which allow the user to enjoy the media collection on other PCs and devices at home or from outside.

There is a feature named HomeGroup which allows media streaming to be accessed.Media Streaming is enabled by default in a home network configuration.

For using this feature the computer must be having with Windows 7 installed on them.This option can be enabled from the Windows Media Player12 and then both the computers should be connected with an online ID, like Windowws Live e-mail.

It allows for setting up the home PC, such that the media libraries can be accessed from anywhere.Also, it allows for the others Windows 7 PCs and devices to push media to your player and control it.It provides with an option to quickly authorize all your home PCs and devices for accessing your media collection.

Windows Explorer can automatically discover and provide access to shared media libraries on other HomeGroup PCs. Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center has the ability to discover shared libraries from:
● Windows Home Server.
● Windows Media Player 11 and 12.

HomeGroup allows an option to create Shared Libraries for various types of media such as music, pictures, and video. These libraries can be accessed from within the navigation pane of Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player, and from the shared view of each media category within Windows Media Center.
