To organize objects or icons on your computer desktop using windows; You will have to use the mouse.
To move desktop objects manually:
Click the object or icon eg my computer object with the left mouse button and drag it to another part of the desktop. You’ll see a shadow of the object appearing as you drag the object. Release the mouse button to reposition the object.
To move the desktop objects automatically:
Click with the right mouse button on a blank portion of the desktop to display the desktop menu. Choose line up Icons to arrange the objects horizontally along an invisible grid.
Right click the blank desktop again and but this time click arrange Icons. Choose “by Name” from the cascading menu. Now the objects are arranged in alphabetical order, starting at the upper-left corner.
You can ensure that your desktop objects are kept in permanently arranged state by choosing Auto Arrange. Right click the desktop, then click Arrange Icons and choose Auto Arrange from the cascading menu. Now whenever you move an object, it will be automatically rearranged.
To organize desktop windows appearance
Every open window on the desktop has similar options for organizing the object within it and outside appearance. You can access these options by opening the view menu or by clicking buttons on the toolbar or titlebar. These button and menu include move, resize, minimize, maximize and close. You can also arrange windows on your desktop in a different patterns by right clicking blank taskbar portion and selecting your windows view option. These include cascade, horizontally tiled, vertically tiled or close windows.
To organize objects inside a window
To organize objects or items within a window click view menu option and select how you wish to view them eg list, arrange icon by name, size etc. select Auto Arrange if you want a window items to be automatically rearranged and windows remember the settings next time you open the window.
