How to Use Internet Browsers / Explorer / Mozilla / Chrome Features

All Internet browsers have these features on them. Menu bar, Toolbar, Address bar, scroll bar on the right, and status bar at the bottom. The features may vary a bit on different Internet browsers but carry out the same functions.

How to use the Features


The Title Bar
It is on the top of internet browser window and shows the name of web page you currently opened. Dragging it moves the window while clicking it adjust the size of window. You can also use minimize, restore, close or maximize button.

The menu Bar
It contains the File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools and Help menu options. Various commands related to the functions of the Internet browsers are accessed through these menu options. On the right is a navigation graphic which moves when browsing / surfing.

The Address Bar / Navigation Toolbar
This is where you type the address and click Go button on the right, or simply press the Enter key. It displays the address of current page you are viewing. It is also known as the Uniform Resource Locator (URL).The address you enter can be in URL or IP format.
It may contain standard toolbar buttons like home, back and forward, refresh and stop buttons. Search button is on the right. For example in mozilla firefox

The Status Bar
This is the bar at the bottom of the window. It displays information on what Internet Browser is doing and displays the logo or “done” when nothing is happening.

The Standard Toolbar
The standard Toolbar contain buttons that are mostly shortcuts to Menu functions. The displayed button can be added or removed from View Option in menu bar, then select Toolbars and click customize depending on your type of Internet browser.
It may contain standard toolbar buttons like home, back and forward, refresh and stop buttons. Search button is on the right.

The Bookmark Toolbar
It displays your favorite bookmarks. Click on your bookmarks to load on your current web page.

The Google or other toolbars
These are special Toolbars that allow you to search the internet for information you need.
