Microsoft office 2011 for Mac, is it really worth?

Yes, as the release date of Microsoft office 2011 for Mac is coming closer there are several questions that started to crawl on my mind, is it really worth, will it work fine on the Mac interface and many more. As office 2011 is still not release the and it is expected to get released later this year, how can one wait to explore the features of the latest version. So I started to search for the torrent sites if some one could provide me a trial version to test on to. So, I got one.

So lets begin analyzing how good is Microsoft office 2011. The most important addition to this version is the much awaited ribbon. I am saying much awaited as it was promised that it will be added in office 2007 but wasn't there and wasn't there in Office 2008 for Mac too. It will not only provide you the ribbon benefits but will also allow you to use the standard Mac menu.

Another interesting feature being promised is the support for .PST folders. It will archive e-mails in outlook as well as greater support for the MS exchange too. It will also have the capability to jointly publish and share the documents with others through share point. It will also have a Information Rights Management to help you protect sensitive information from being distributed or read by people who do not have the permission to access the content.

Presence anywhere is a feature that I am waiting for eagerly. It will be a co-authoritative tool which will allow the users from multiple locations to collaborate and view the same file. But don't you think that it will give rise to several problems like multiple versions, lost edit etc

for eg. “A” is working on the file and simultaneously “B” got the access to the and started editing the file and then they save the data one after the other the last save will overwrite the others data. I thought the data will be lost and again we will have to rely on to the data recovery software, but Microsoft provided the solution to it by adding a feature which will provide real time status update on who is working on the file.

Microsoft claims that almost all the features will be there in the latest version of Microsoft office 2011 for Mac. I am curiously waiting for the release date to be announced and by now I think you might be feeling the same as I am right now. I think it's truly worth.
