Simple troubleshooting

These tips may be disclosed only a small part but hopefully useful and could succeed in doing. Although very Simple troubleshooting can to help us how to solve problems on our computer

CD-ROM
If your CD-ROM happen trouble or your computer often cannot open or your CD cannot read, it's may the optic CD-ROM is dirty, The solution about that, check out your CD-ROM, open out from the casing, and then open secrup in close CD-ROM find your optic CD-ROM and clean but be carefull don't make your optic press. and if your cd-rom cannot be open clean the gear in inside your cd-rom in open-close cd-rom and then give a little oil (can be use with oil kitchen).

MOTHERBOARD
After make setting to bios change, The System fail to run boot and your monitor blank, the solution it's :
1. Turn off computer, wait about one minute then turn on back. if no sign , turn on back and then press key, hold down the insert key then turn on back. if it work, hold out key and press Key , if not work, try step 2.
2. Turn off computer, open the casing then find CMOS Jumper (it's near batery), change jumper position 1-2 to 2-3 about one minute then back again to first position. if it's work, then go to bios with hold the key. if not work, try to step 3.
3. Same with step 2, but get out the power cable from ATX and get out the CMOS Batery.

MONITOR
Monitor screen it's not work properly or flickers check out setting display properties : The wrong option frequency can your screen monitor not wrk properly. it's can we see if you done and out the game, and your monitor sometime on and off or screen resoluttion change. and it's can be happen if we turn on TV with graphic card in TV out connector (actually frequecy will be change to 60 Hzt). the solution it's use windows driver from your graphic card cd or use utility Res-Changer (Chip-CD 6/2004). right click mouse to blank in the desktop, option new | Text Document " Give the name file with extension ".BAT", Example "RESOLUTION.BAT", if you not see extension, Double Click My Computer then option tools | Folder Options | View and Nonactive The hide file extensions for known file types. Right click the file then Edit, in editor write source like below :
reschange -width=1024 -height=768 -dept=32 -refresh=72
change your resolution in behind "width" and "height" with your resolution you want. "depth" is the many color in bit, example "32" for true color. "refresh" for monitor frequency. Save file then double click in that file.the program will back your resolution and monitor frequency to first setting.
If your screen not change or still not work properly or the color not true, the trouble may be there in out PC. like power supply and speaker low end if near with monitor will be screen monitor not work properly, far away the speaker about 15-20 cm and make power supply support with mother board. The touble cause electromagnetic. or you can do this :
To change the refresh frequency for your monitor
  1. Open Display in Control Panel.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  3. On the Monitor tab, in the Refresh Frequency list, click a new refresh rate.
Notes
  • To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
  • The default refresh frequency setting is 100 Hertz, although your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information regarding the settings your monitor supports.
  • A higher refresh frequency reduces any flicker on your screen, but choosing a setting that is too high for your monitor can make your display unusable and cause damage to your hardware.
  • Changes to the refresh frequency affect all users that log on to the computer.
NETWORK
Network Card unplug in PC, But PC still not work in many other computer.
1. Check out hub/switch, find the definitoin about lamp in hub/switch in book of tutorial hub/switch you buy.
2. Check out network card. Are the network card lamp it's work or not. Check the cable you use(Straight-thru cable not crossover).
3. Check out IP Configuration : " Start | Setting | Network Connections " , Right click Local Area Network Connection and click "Properties" , Double click internet protocol (TCP/IP) and active use following IP Address. in IP address write 192.168.0.10 , in other PC write 192.168.0.11. in subnet mask click 255.255.0.0 then confirmation with ok. for test go to command prompt then write " ping 192.168.0.10". if that its available the network will respon. if we want see other PC in "My Network Places" , you must use the same domain name, can do with right click in My computer and the "properties" in name computer coloumn write with the same workgroup.

OPERATING SYSTEM
in a while make folder AVI file and mpeg, windows explorer to be hang cause it's try to preview with help broken video codecs. broken file be cause by virus or in a bad sector in harddisk. it's can be try with SFC tool and we can change with the better other tool. Solution ready cd windows XP and run tool in start | RUN|, click " SFC / scannow". XP will ask cd installer then tool will run scandisk in full system.

MEMORY
Graphic card memory frequency and mother board in factually have to same be cause both of work is syncron to (FSB). setting BIOS too high for graphic card can be make PC hang or not work properly. a simple way for get frequency with devide 2 in graphic card for DDR-RAM. then give same frequency in BIOS for motherboard and graphic card.
