Below are some basic tips as well as some secrets that can be used on Google to help improve your search results and find things you may have never thought of.

1. Group your search query to find better results. For example, if you're searching for computer help, you'll find better results if you search for an exact phrase by surrounding it in quotes: "computer help".
2. If a lot of your results have keywords you're not search for use a minus sign. For example, if you're looking for computer help but don't want pages containing Windows type: "computer help" -windows
3. Google supports number ranges, for example, if you're searching for computer help between the year 2000 to 2005 you can type: "Computer help" 2000..2005
4. See the Google operators page, which lists dozens of the available operators Google allows. For example, the below search would search for URL that contains the word computer: allinurl: computer
5. Visit the Google Features page, which lists hundreds of different examples of the type of things you can find through Google and how to find. See our Google dictionary definition for a listing of dozens of other Google services.

Below are some more advance searches people are commonly looking for and what they do.

intitle:index.of + mp3 -asp -html -htm -php -pls -txt

In the above example, when entered into Google this search result looks for any index of files that does not contain the standard web pages like HTML, PHP, etc. or any other non-related pages. In the above example you can replace mp3 with avi or other file extension to search for these types of files.

intitle:index.of + mp3 "" -asp -html -htm -php -pls -txt

In the above example you could replace "" with the artists name, track, group, or name of the MP3 you're looking for. Keep in mind when downloading MP3 that you should own the track or song you're downloading otherwise it's considered illegal.

inurl:"ViewerFrame?Mode="

In the above simple example, Google will return results of insecure live web cams and with some of the services even allow you to control the cameras over the Internet.

The above three examples are just a few more advanced searches used to help illustrate how many different things can be found through Google.

How to Customize Your Browser Toolbar?

You can customize your system web browser toolbar according to your need. There are many toolbar buttons you never used. You can add some mostly used buttons for example "Paste" or "Print Preview" in your browser toolbar or remove with same option.

If you are using Internet Explorer then right click on the empty area of the toolbar and select the option "Customize". Here you will find a list of options in left and right panel, if you want to add any toolbar button then simply highlight it from the left panel and click on the "Add" button. But if you want to remove any toolbar button then first highlight it from the right panel and click on the "Remove" button.

You can also change the order that buttons appear by moving them up and down from the list.

Below is a list of our top ten Google tricks many users don't know about.

1. Definitions - Pull up the definition of the word by typing define followed by the word you want the definition for. For example, typing: define bravura would display the definition of that word.
2. Local search - Visit Google Local enter the area you want to search and the keyword of the place you want to find. For example, typing: restaurant at the above link would display local restaurants.
3. Phone number lookup - Enter a full phone number with area code to display the name and address associated with that phone number.
4. Find weather - Type weather followed by a zip code or city and state to display current weather conditions and forecasts for upcoming days.
5. Track airline flight - Enter the airline and flight number to display the status of an airline flight and it's arrival time. For example, type: delta 123 to display this flight information if available.
6. Track packages - Enter a UPS, FedEx or USPS tracking number to get a direct link to track your packages.
7. Pages linked to you - See what other web pages are linking to your website or blog by typing link: followed by your URL. For example, typing link:http://computer-help-tips.blogspot.com displays all pages linking to Computer Hope.
8. Find PDF results only - Add filetype: to your search to display results that only match a certain file type. For example, if you wanted to display PDF results only type: "dell xps" filetype:pdf -- this is a great way to find online manuals.
9. Calculator - Use the Google Search engine as a calculator by typing a math problem in the search. For example, typing: 100 + 200 would display results as 300.
10. Stocks - Quickly get to a stock quote price, chart, and related links by typing the stock symbol in Google. For example, typing: msft will display the stock information for Microsoft.

Access Internet Through MS Calculator

This trick will allow you to access internet through Calculator. Calculator can be used as a web browser.

1. Open your MS Calculator. This is normally found in Start => All Programs => Accessories => Calculator.
2. Open the help-window by pressing the F1 key.
3. Click the top-left corner icon of the help window once (Standard is a Document with a Question mark).
4. Select Go to URL-address.

Tips Expanding Read Area On Firefox

Tips Berinternet Aman di Warnet

Yang harus diperhatikan dalam berselancar internet diwarnet, diantaranya :

1.Chat
Awas Keylogger.
Keylogger adalah aplikasi untuk merekam aktifitas ketukan keyboard yang kita tekan. Apapun yang kita ketik akan terekam berarti termasuk Username dan Password Login Instant Messenger (seperti Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ dsb) milik anda akan terekam. Karena warnet adalah tempat umum maka harus waspada siapa tahu ada orang iseng memasang program keylogger diwarnet.

Untuk menghindari terekamnya username & Password anda gunakan fasilitas yang ada diwindows yaitu OSK.exe atau On-Screen Display Keyboard. Tempat OSK.exe berada difolder system32 yaitu C:\WiINDOWS\system32 bisa dicopy ke Flash Disk. Jika capek menggunakan OSK.exe untuk aktifitas ketik pesan chat jika tidak terlalu penting bisa menggunakan keyboard seperti biasa. Sejauh pengetahuan saya dengan menggunakan OSK.exe tidak akan terekam dalam program keylogger. Tetapi saya tidak menjamin 100% karena yang namanya perkembangan teknologi terus berubah.

Jangan Lupa Sign Out
Dalam beraktifitas Chat Seperti Yahoo Messenger, dll biasanya jika sudah selesai User lupa untuk Sign Out (Disconnect). Contoh dalam Yahoo Messenger Jika kita Close saja Form Aplikasi Yahoo Messenger, sebetulnya kita masih terkoneksi dengan jaringan internet & yahoo Messenger masih aktif. Untuk Disconnect pada aplikasi yahoo!messenger Klik Messenger >Sign Out atau Klik kanan Gbr icon yahoo! mesenger(Systray) yg berada disudut kanan bawah windows, trus klik sign out.

2.Email
Seperti halnya Chat dalam melakukan Login email seperti Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Gmail dan lain-lain gunakan OSK.exe untuk menghindari Keylogger. Dan jika sudah selesai jangan lupa untuk klik Sign Out / klik keluar (bukan klik tanda X disudut kanan atas).

Jika Anda menggunakan e-mail client seperti MS Outlook Express di warnet jangan lupa untuk menghapus kembali informasi-informasi e-mail anda seperti alamat e-mail Anda, alamat SMTP & POP3 dan username/password Anda. Kosongkan semua setting pada aplikasi e-mail client tersebut.

3.Browsing
Dalam anda berselancar didunia maya atau browsing internet hindari untuk meng-klik Link atau Message Box yang mengandung ajakan atau iming-iming hadiah uang dan lainya karena biasanya akan mendownload dan menginstall otomatis virus trojan.

Setelah selesai aktifitas browsing jangan lupa menghapus jejak anda dalam browsing.
Karena segala aktifitas dalam browsing akan terekam dalam komputer yang disebut Cookies. Cookies adalah file-file aktifitas browsing yang terekam dikomputer termasuk alamat website yang anda kunjungi.

Untuk menghapus jejak Browsing sesuai dengan Aplikasi Browser yang digunakan,

Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer 7 >Klik Tools >Internet Options >Pada Tab General, Browsing History klik Delete
Internet Explorer 6 >Klik Tools >Internet Options >Pada Tab General, Temporary Internet Files > Klik Delete Cookies & Klik Delete Files. Dan pada Tab General, History klik Clear History.

Mozila FireFox:
Klik Tools >Clear Private Data...trus Checklist semua pilihan yang ada termasuk Cookies, trus Klik Private Data Now.

Opera:
Klik Tools >Delete Private Data... >trus klik delete.

Jika aplikasi browser diwarnet untuk menghapus jejak browsing dikunci, anda dapat menggunakan software-software yang tersedia diinternet seperti Portable Window Washer, Internet window washer, Tracks Eraser, dan lainya. Bisa dicari di Search Engine Google. Atau bisa juga menggunakan aplikasi browser portable.

4.Internet Banking
Jangan melakukan atau tidak dianjurkan melakukan internet banking misalnya Klik BCA, BII Internet Banking dan lain sebagainya dari warnet karena resikonya sangat tinggi. Belum lagi kalo ada orang dengan sengaja ingin menyebarkan virus ke warnet dengan maksud untuk menguji hasil virus buatannya atau dengan maksud supaya nama sipembuat, nama kekasihnya, tempat daerah atau almamaternya ngetop. Ccckkk...kok bisa ya...padahal kebanyakan virus kan sifatnya merusak system komputer...Bangga Gitu...

Biasanya pengguna warnet tidak pernah lupa membawa USB Flash Disk. Untuk menghindari tertularnya virus kedalam Flash Disk gunakan aplikasi Antivirus yang Portable (tidak perlu diinstal, tinggal dicopy paste ke Flash Disk) seperti pcmav, clamwin, dan lainya atau aplikasi security yang lain seperti LocknGo, Flash Disk Guard, Flash Disk Lock, dan lainnya. Create a shortcut key for Internet Web pages

Create a PC shortcut key to a favorite web page by creating a shortcut to the web page or URL. Users using Internet Explorer can quickly do this by right-clicking on an empty spot of a web page and click 'Create Shortcut'.

Once the shortcut has been created locate the shortcut and right-click or view the properties of that shortcut.

In the shortcut properties assign a new shortcut key and click OK. Now when the shortcut key is pressed the web page will be automatically loaded.
