Fixing “Status: 0xc0000225” Boot Error Message

There are various partitioning utilities available on the Internet that allow you to resize, split, and merge hard drive partitions. While partitioning using these tools is an easy process, it can result into serious problems, if not performed systematically. If you have not created any backup or the backup file is corrupt, then you will need to use an effective third-party data recovery software to recover the data. One of the major hazard that you might encounter is a boot error message at the startup of your system. This error message does not allow the Windows to boot and makes the data stored in your hard drive inaccessible. For easy accessibility of hard drive data in such situations, you will need to restore the data from an updated backup.

Picture a scenario, where you used a partition tool to create a new partition for Windows 7 on a Windows Vista based hard drive. However, when the partitions are created and you attempt to boot your system, you receive the following boot error message:

Status: 0xc0000225
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

As the above error message appears during the booting time, it does not allow you to access the hard drive data. In addition, the above error message appears every time you boot your system.

Cause:

The root cause for the above error message is interrupted hard drive partitioning process.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message, you will need to format your hard drive and reinstall Windows Vista operating system. While this resolution allows you to store new data in your hard drive, it also deletes all the previously saved data from your hard drive. To recover your lost data after formatting, you will need to recover data from an efficient data recovery software

A data recovery application salvages all data from a formatted Windows based hard drive by employing powerful recovery procedures. Downloaded directly from the Internet, the recovery tool is easy to implement without any prior technical skills.

How Data Recovery Brings Back Deleted Files

Data recovery software has become a popular solution for accidentally deleted files and items lost due to crashes or system error. However, many people are unsure just how these programs work.

In order to understand how data recovery works, you first need to know how your computer stores information.

Every bit of information on your PC, from saved files to your operating system itself, is recorded on your hard drive. The hard drive is essentially the memory of your computer.

Inside the hard drive are a few complex devices, primarily being the platters and the read/write heads. Platters are rapidly spinning disks, and there can be a few of these. They are similar to CDs in their general design. Platters store data though magnetic regions, which make up the binary code of information. With binary information, the magnetic fields can have two position only: 1 or 0. One of these positions is called a bit. Eight bits composes a byte, as in megabyte. Thousands of the magnetic regions record your information on the platters.

This magnetic information is detected and recorded by the read/write head. This is a finely tuned device which hovers just above the surface of the platter. It picks up the magnetic field, and sends the signal through the computer. The binary code is then converted into the file that you see as a picture, hear as a song, or interact with as a program. The same happens in reverse when you save a file - the information goes through your computer, is translated to binary code, and is recorded in magnetic regions on the platter by the read/write head.

There is a possibility for hardware malfunction, and a "head crash" occurs when the read/write head comes in physical contact with the platter. Due to the highly refined and sensitive technology, this can cause serious and irreparable data loss. Other hardware problems can lead to inaccessible files, and a frozen hard drive. These are serious issues, but they do not constitute the majority of data loss.

Instead, most data loss is causes by software malfunctions or mistakes, such as accidentally erasing a file, emptying a recycle bin, formatting a disk, and so on. Virus and system crashes can also cause data to be erased. In these circumstances, the binary magnetic information that makes up a file is not lost. Instead, just the icons, references, and file names are removed. As a result, the user is unable to access their file, but the data remains on the platters. This is due in part to the design and function of a hard drive - when a file is deleted, the information remains on the hard drive until new information takes its place. When new information is saved over top of old, this is known as overwriting.

A data recovery program makes the read/write head detect all information on the platters, even where the computer seems to show that there is no information. This allows the program to pick up on the magnetic regions of deleted information. This information is then analyzed, the file type is determined, and the file is reconstituted on the computer. The user can then interact with the file just as before.

Windows Vista Booting halts post DLL file corruption

Data Link Library (DLL) files in Windows consists of various functions which can be called from another application or DLL. These files are one of the most vital part of Windows operating system and are primarily used to parcel and reuse distinct jobs. Corruption in these files can occur due to various factors, like virus attack, human error, file system damage, and operating system malfunction. In few cases, the booting process of Windows gets halted after DLL file corruption, resulting into inaccessibility of data stored in your hard drive. In such situations, an easy method to overcome the hazards created after DLL file corruption is to restore the data from an updated backup. However, if in case of absence of an updated data backup, you will need to search for advanced Data Recovery Software.

Consider a practical case, where you receive underneath error message when you attempt to boot your Windows Vista based system:

“Error loading C:\Windows\System32\hgGwWPhh.dll The specified Module could not be found”

After the above error message appears, your system becomes unbootable, further resulting in inaccessibility of hard drive data. In addition, the error message pops up every time you attempt to boot your system.

Cause:

The above error message pops up when the DLL file is damaged by a fatal virus attack.

Resolution:

Below are the work around steps that help you to resolve the above error message:

Try to boot your system in safe mode and perform a system restore.
Download malware bytes and perform a thorough scan.

The aforementioned steps allow you to resolve the above error message in most cases. However, if the steps fail to resolve your problem and the system still remains unmountable, then the only option left is to reinstall Windows Vista operating system. Although the error message will not pop up after formatting, but your previously stored data will be deleted. The recovery of lost data in such situations is possible only by using a powerful third-party Data Recovery Software. Such Data Recovery products ensure complete recovery even after formatting the hard drive.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is an outstanding Data Recovery product that instantly recovers all the lost, missing, and formatted data. Clearing Browser History No Match for Recovery Software

It’s comforting to think that when we clear our browser history any potentially incriminating information is eliminated for good.

Yes, Not only the data even the saved passwords that you store in the browser the product keys and all the login details that you store in the browser, is recoverable even after you remove them from the browser history, by the use of data recovery software, It can be a Mac, Windows, or a Linux system it doesn't matter. The mechanism remains same for each and every Operating System. So, no one is safe even after deleting all the data from the browser.

The only solution to it can be, not to store data on the browser or just don't relax after deleting the data from the browser history wipe it. It can help you make the data irrecoverable.

Digital Hygiene To Prevent Virus Infection and Data Loss

Virus in the files, which are downloaded from Internet, is the most growing mode of the infection of a computer. The major objective in avoiding virus infection and need of Data Recovery on your computer is to keep your hard drive clean. Collectivity, such virus prevention methods are known as the digital hygiene. It is collimating the quick growth of the Internet use itself. Installing software, device driver, or software patches from unreliable resources may infect your computer from viruses. Viruses damage your data, applications, and system data structures, causing data loss situations.
You must take precautions to ensure that which files are being stored on your hard drive and exactly what media you are attaching to your system. There are some common ways to prevent virus infection. You should keep in mind the below universally applicable rules of 'digital hygiene':
Garbage In, Garbage Out- It is a very famous computer apothegm, which is very true in several situations both in computer and real world. Your system is infected by viruses only if you allow software to get into your system. Viruses can't spontaneously develop into your system.
More Connections, More Risk- As you increase the number of methods you interact with your computer using storage media and network connections, the chances of virus infection are increased. Shared computers have more chances of virus infection than a standalone computer with stable software.
Piracy Has Some Cost- While the virus infections from the store-bought applications occur, they are very rare. However, freeware and the applications obtained from unreliable sources, have much higher possibility of infection.
Maintain Backups- If you create multiple backup copies of your critical data regularly, it is the “last ditch” of defense against the virus infection. It not only prevents the virus infection, but also saves you from data loss.
However, if you do not create backup and viruses infect your computer, you may lose you valuable data. In such situations, Data Recovery Software are required to get your mission-critical data back.
The Data Recovery applications come equipped with a set of advanced scanning techniques, which perform absolute recovery in all cases of logical data loss. The Data Recovery Software have simple and rich graphical user interface to provide ease of use.
Superior recovery providers have software to handle all data loss situations. The applications are offered for Windows data recovery, data recovery Mac, Mac File recovery, OS X, Linux, UNIX, and Novell operating systems. They are completely safe to use, due to read-only and non-destructive conduct.

Things one should know before opting for CD/DVD data recovery tool

We always care about the data and we always look out for the the ways to protect our data from loss. When ever we think of data we think of the hard drive and the flash drives that have our data but we kind of ignore the optical storage media that is the CD DVD. Most of us think that the data stored in the CD or DVD id really safe and we don't need to worry about it. It's not the case as we worry about the data in the hard drive similarly we need to worry about the data in the optical media too. It can't be left alone.

CD/DVD's are really sensitive, there are several reason that cause data loss
1)Dirty disk surface
2)Dirty lens in the DVD reader
3)Software or hard ware problems

We need to analyze the reason of the data loss before trying to opt for the data recovery method. It will minimize the effort you will put in to check out every possible cause.

The recovery process is also not that simple as its in the hard drive corruption scenario. We need to consider too many things before taking the backup media into consideration.

Those points are:

Durability of the media : should be given the prime importance as if the durability of the media is low then the data is again at a danger of getting corrupt. The total mechanism might get destroyed which will lead to data loss.

Size of the media : has to be given the importance too as if it's bigger in the size then it can disturb the whole system. If the media is smaller in size then in that case it will capture only the data that will fit in and the rest of the data will be lost. Each and every computer has it's own configuration ans we must choose the media accordingly.

Lastly the media that is portable to the system should only be used. Even a tape can be used for CD DVD data recovery it will read the data and create a copy with in itself.

Is recovery of the corrupt XLS file possible?

Spreadsheets, who doesn't have had used it, most of us use it on regular basis. It's like a part of our life. We save a lot of useful information to the spreadsheet. I also did the same I saved the data on the spread sheet but when I tried to access it again firstly the excel file didn't open up and once I was able to open the file it contained all gibberish data. I think most of us have had faced the similar problem. So I decided to find the solution to recover the data from the corrupt xls file.

What I found in the process is that windows offers the option to recover the data, for such data corruption cases. Today I will explain the process to recover the data from corrupt xls file without using any data recovery software or any other help.

The recovery process:

  • Open XLS and click on to the Open button in the file menu.
  • A dialog box will appear. From the dialog box click the corrupt file once you select it, navigate to the open button that is there at the bottom right of the dialog box.
  • Click the drop down icon just adjacent to open button
  • Open and repair option will appear in the list
  • Click on the Open and repair button.
  • Click on the repair button, excel will try to recover as much data as possible.
  • Once done with this a copy of the file will be created
  • Check the file if the data been recovered or not
  • If recovered then save the new file and delete the old one.

But wait what to do if the data still not recovered, for few of us, like me, the life isn't that simple, so for people like me:

Close the excel file and repeat the process till you get the repair button once you reach at that step click on to the extract data button. It will show you the cell reference what kind of data it was not able to recover. If this the case then click on to convert to values option. Otherwise click recover formulas. Once done with this close the repair dialog box. Save the work book importantly with the different name and delete the old corrupt file

Still if you are not able to recover the file then there won't be any other option than to opt for a third party excel recovery software. In most of the cases the data will be recovered by following the process mentioned above. As I got the data back, hope, so will you...

How to Use Data Recovery Software to Recover Inaccessible Data From Windows 2000

Are you facing problems while booting your Windows system? Are you getting any error messages as well? If yes, then you should check the text of the message to infer what the problem lies exactly. Then, you should try to address the issue according to the specific message. However, if that is not possible then you have few options left apart from reinstalling the operating system. But before that you should use a third-party file data recovery software to perform data recovery of the trapped data.

Let us consider a case in which your Windows 2000-based system is unable to boot. The following error message may be displayed in this case:

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced"

Please note that the 'ced' letters at the end of the error message are not the part of the message. It could have happened that some text on the previous screen had the 'ced' letters and this message has overwritten the previous message.

Cause:

There could be the following reasons for this erroneous situation:

The System hive in the registry is missing or damaged. A Promise Technology, Inc. ATA66 PCI controller card is installed in the computer. This issue typically occurs during the Windows 2000 installation process.

Resolution:

To resolve this problem, you should perform the following methods according to the specific problem:

Restore a Backup of the System Hive: You should restore the System hive using the Repair Console tool.

Reduce the Size of the System Hive: You should try to reduce the size of the System hive as there are lots of files in the system, which may be utilizing the system resources.

Remove the Promise Technology ATA66 PCI Controller: You should remove the controller card and check the BIOS settings to see if the IDE controller on the motherboard is enabled. Restart the system after that as it should run fine now.

If the problem is persisting, then you should look to reinstall the operating system after formatting the hard disks. However, that may make you lose the data. For this, you should use a third-party data recovery software to recover all the data from the inaccessible system. With interactive user interface and advanced scanning mechanisms, these data recovery utilities ensure that the data is not lost during the recovery.

Of all the data recovery tools, the most reliable one is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery, which recovers data from hard drives, memory cards, iPods, etc. With the ability to recover more than 185 different file types from various storage devices, this
RAID data recovery software also recovers deleted emails from Outlook Express and MS Outlook.

What should be done if the digital media back up fails?

In the ever changing world, the way of photography has also changed. More and more photographers are switching to digital photography and why not it's fast as well as far more secure than the conventional photography. Digital photography also provides you a second chance of recovering images, if some thing goes wrong with the digital media. This option is not available in the traditional one, once the images are destroyed it can't be recovered.

As the trend of digital photography has increased there is a significant increase in data loss cases too. If you search for data loss scenarios you will find a lot of articles emphasizing on to backing up your digital images. But what to do if the back up fails, this question remains unanswered. You won't find articles on how to recover images once lost.

In this article I will try and provide you the solution to it. Thing you should do once you know that something is wrong with your camera.

  1. Stop using your digi-cam right away

  2. Don't format it or initialize your digi-cam

  3. Keep your camera away from the magnetic fields.

4. Keep it away from extreme temperature

If taken care of these things, chances of recovering your images will increase. Digital photo recovery is possible for all the major factors except overwriting. The major reasons due to which can loose images on the digital media are

  • Physical Damage

    a) Exposure of digital media to high temperature

    b) Damaged camera

    c) Cracked digital media

    d) Water Damage

  • Logical Damage

    a) Reformatting digital media

    b) Unintentional deletion of files

    c) Overwriting

Both Mac photo recovery as well as Windows photo recovery software are available. You just need to categorize your need according to the damaging factors, to choose the data recovery service. For logical damages you need a photo recovery software compatible to the digital media as well as the Operating system you use. For physical damages you will require a data recovery company services. Logical recovery will cost you much lesser than the physical recovery. I will recommend not to go for the physical data recovery services till the time, the data lost is too crucial. The price comparison will really show the difference

For Logical recovery price range from $30 - $700.00 approx

For Physical recovery price range from $500- depends upon severity of the damage to storage media

I will be elaborating on to the price range and features of such software in the next post. So you have both the options open.

How to completely erase your hard disk in Windows 7?

When ever we think to get rid of the PC that's old and of no use, worry that creeps in is in regards to the data that's there in the hard drive. Even if we have formatted the hard drive. People who are a bit technical know that the data is not permanently deleted even after formatting the hard drive it stays there and any third party data recovery software can recover the data. Most of the time, this is the cause of worry for the business computers.

To avoid such worries companies opt for the disk wipe software to completely erase the data from the hard drive before getting rid of it. But its a kind of unwanted expense companies or people have to bear. So what should be done if you don't want to spend money on the third party drive wipe software and want to erase the data as well.

Windows has the solution to it in the form of a hidden tool that is cipher.exe tool, it not only erases the data from the whole hard drive but it has the capability to erase the data from the specific folders too. This feature has added more credibility to the tool. What you need to do is, to get a bit technical to get rid of the worries.

The process to follow to for cipher.exe tool

It runs from the command prompt, go to the command prompt and then type the command cipher /w x:\folder where you need to replace “x” from the drive you want to wipe or the path of the folder you want to erase. Once done with this you will see that the data is being permanently deleted to an extent that its not recoverable.

So it's advisable not to try it casually or you will loose your data, the data there after will be not recoverable by any data recovery software too.

Virus Protection- The Key of Intelligent Computing

In modern era, computers have become the need of everyone. From small home assignments to big enterprise projects, computer is used everywhere. You may use computer to store your personal as well as professional information, thinking that its safe to save data on computer hard drive. But the fact is, computer may fail at any point of time and you may come across critical data loss situations. In addition to other data loss reasons, viruses are proving to be a big threat for your data. At this point, you need to opt for data recovery software to get your valuable data back.

The viruses are malicious programs, which infect your computer operating system, file system, and data files. They may enter your computer through network, Internet, or removable storage media and damage your computer. Although, the viruses are turning out to be extremely complex, but preventing them from infecting your system is quite simple. Use an updated and powerful anti-virus application, regularly install security updates, and turn on the Firewall.

In addition to that, there are a few simple and common procedures that you should use, whether at home or in organizational computing environment. Do not open the file whose sender or the origins are unknown. Download files only from reliable and trusted resources. The executable files may contain viruses and affect your system.
Today, an entire new wave of the viruses have been invented on the unsuspecting users as software vendors developed rich-featured new applications without thinking how vulnerable they might be to viruses. Now, even the email messages may contain viruses that spread at the lightning speed. Viruses could delete data, alter file names, and even damage system data structures.

If you have not take proper precautions and system failure occurs, situations may become worse. In such circumstances, backup may help you to restore data. If the backup is not updated or its damaged, data recovery is required to retrieve lost data.

Recovery, in case of virus infection and other logical failure situations, is possible through data recovery software. The applications use high-end scanning algorithms to methodically scan the damaged hard drive and extract all lost, missing, and inaccessible data from it. They have rich graphical user interface and thus let you perform Do It Yourself Data Recovery.

Just another day, doing as you always do with your computer. Create documents, working on your finances, updating your family website or making your home or business online. Suddenly, strange errors start appearing, the computer makes loud scratching sounds and then nothing.

Often this is the main storage of your information, family photos, work related files, favorite mp3s and other things that have often taken months or even years to make.

The loss of an operating system like Windows is not so bad, you already have the album, all their programs on CD, but your personal information needs to be protected by you Even if it's on the CD/DVD/Blu-rays for CD DVD Data Recovery you can use several recovery software in the market

What measures should be taken to ensure that loss does not occur?

The real idea of data protection is not new, but still many people just the face of reality when it is too late.

The most essential basic steps are:

* Virus protection software
* personal firewall if you use the Internet
* Save personal files to CD/DVD

Antivirus and firewall protection will protect them from attacks that can destroy files and software. Storing files off-site ensure that there is no permanent record of all those things that you need. The most common is saved in other places less will be lost in case of disaster.

All the above protect you from loss of software due to some programs, but other things can cause data loss too.

The other things are related to hardware, which means that the actual place where files are stored is damaged or destroyed.

Some things that could cause a hardware failure or loss

* Lightning
* Theft
* Hard disk failure

The beam is very difficult to protect . The very fact that it is a force so powerful that the most basic means of lightning could not protect a direct attack. real protection for this costs a lot and is very often not preventable. If you live in a region with frequent strikes, be more careful in backing up frequently to a place and maybe even moving to another site that information.

The theft happens from time to time, once your team is gone, there is little hope of recovery.

Hard disk failures is when the drive itself fails due to some internal problems or any of the foregoing events physically harmful.

All these are quite horrible, but what can be done to prevent it.

Backups have been and remain the best way. If you have a copy of something in two places there is always a worse one if they are ugly.

Another option that is becoming more and more reasonable and cost-effective is a RAID disk array. This basically means that two hard drives work together as a couple, like the data, each being and exact copy of the other. So if one fails the other takes over and the defective can be replaced.

And finally, if you are facing the loss of a hard drive, there are experts in data recovery. For a fee large enough that you open your hard drive and try to recover what was in it. Never try to open and repair itself as the internal hard drive is a non containment, zero dust, even some particles may cause the unit repaired.

So make sure you're not the next to get a nasty surprise and make sure it is well protected against the loss of all your important information

How To Perform Raw Disk Recovery

Raw disk format can be referred as the most basic way to look at the data in the computer. The data in the computer is stored in the form of zeros and the ones. This sort of data is not at all readable by the lay man but this form of data is used to recover the data from the drive, drive imaging and universal compatibility.

To make a recovery from the raw disk format the best way would be to opt for the data recovery software. The OS on the system is not at all capable of accessing the data from the raw disk format, until and unless you format the drive. This is not at all recommended if in case you are you have lost the data you are trying to recover the data. By formatting the drive you are minimizing the chances of the recovery next to impossible. The data recovery software can help you in this scenario.

Steps to perform Raw Disk Data Recovery
  • You need to firstly prepare the computer for the data recovery operation
a) Update the system with the latest security patches.
b) Update the system with virus protection.
c) Need to be ready with the a external storage device such as the secondary hard drive, flash drive or external backup hard drive
  • Need to download Stellar data recovery software and install it on to the system that is in the working condition.
  • Now attach the external storage device to the system and follow the instructions that the system prompts you in progression to install necessary drivers.
  • Now it's time to connect the raw disk that need to be recovered to the USB hard drive adapter
  • Now connect the power to the disk
  • Run the data recovery software on the system and select the raw recovery option on the software.
  • Scan the drive those are to be recovered using the raw recovery feature.

Once the drives are being scanned you then need to click on the recovery option of the software to recover the lost files on the system.

Do not be surprised to get two quotes for the recovery of data for some companies. One for the recovery of data is logical that much easier to handle and will be a much lower figure, and one for physical damage is much more difficult and therefore rightly costs more. You will also find that the cost prices often vary significantly. It is best to choose somewhere in the middle of the pack toward the higher end. The reason for this is that some companies engage in a bait and switch tactic that indicates that it will cost less at first, but when you actually receive the drive they wil claim to review the cost will be much higher.
